God is with me

Thursday, Mar. 24, 2005, 9:19 p.m.

I've been seeing many things lately, in school, online, and like usual, in my own life.

A thought just came into my mind just now. Life is full of challenges. I realised that everyone has challenges of all kinds. Every family's got its own kind of challenge. Every decision you make comes with it's own challenge. Every step you amek to do something more will come with its own set of challenges. My dad once told me that everything comes in a package. When you get something, check the whole package, not just what you see. I just realised that there isn't a perfect package.

And what's the worst part? Challenges are tough. That's right. Challenges are usually not nice to have. Think about it. Everything you do comes with it. Being a councillor is tough because you get challenges of the mind and of the body. Being a chairman of a school orientation comes with heavy responsibility, many a times stress, and exhaustion. Being a student comes with mental exhaustion, impatientness, and many a times frustration, desperation. Starting your own business comes with stress and mental exhaustion too. Even getting a girlfriend, as much as it's the best thing that can happen to you, is at times, or rather, always filled with challenges. All these challenges are a burden to your life, aren't they? They're stuff which gets on your nerves, and weigh you down like a boulder on your back. They're tough because Mr Devil's always putting negative feelings into it, and it makes everything seem tough.

So does that mean you don't do anything and just be a normal person? What normal person?? The only way you can live a live of no-challenge is if you decide to sleep all day!! If you want to live such a life, tell me. Give me a baseball bat and I'll help you get into a coma.

I once said that challenges are good. With passion for a dream, you'd look forward to challenges. Without challenges, what's life? It would be really boring. I mean, if there aren't challenges in life, the excitement is gone, then i'd might as well go sleep all day all night. Now you're in a dilema, aren't you? Challenges are good... no... wait, they're bad cos there's this burden that you don't like. So is it good or not??? Is there a win-win solution?? Yes there is. Do you believe that you can have challenges without the burden?

You'd probably say "Easy for you to say, you've got a girlfriend to support you emotionally and to ease that burden, cheer you up and stuff... Lucky you..." Haha, thanks, I love my girlfriend too... Well, yea, that's true, and I'll always be there to support her with her challenges. But c'mon, even relationships have it's challenges! Moreover, does that mean that if you don't have a girlfriend you will break down? And what if you're all alone? What if you don't have friends?

But you know what? You're not alone!! no matter how lonely you think you are, there's someone who will not leave you. Someone who will support you in the world when everything seems to fall down. Someone who will help you control the world around you. Someone who will help you live life the fullest, without that burden. That someone is Jesus. He's your win-win solution!! For the Lord said:

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30

What does that mean? That means that Jesus is like a giant hot-air balloon who will lift that heavy weight on your back! He's the one who will make everything go right, and make situations come to your favour! I mean, God's the creator of the world! And thanks to Jesus, He can help turn every favour in your direction! You'd probably say "Yea right... whatever... I mean, I have christian friends, so how come I don't see that happening to them?" Well, that probably means they don't know that someone's carrying their load. They're probably turning away all the favour as a result cos they think they won't get it. Do you know you have the ability to get everything you want because of God? For Jesus said:

"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, "Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says." - Mark 11:23

Whatever you say!! Isn't that awesome?? You see, the moment you realise that all those are yours, you can finally look at all your challenges, smile, and shout "bring it on!!" Sure, you'll still get physically exhausted at times, but emotionally, you won't break down. Sometimes you'd still feel a little down, but once you look back at Jesus again, everything will turn good again! I know, you'd be asking, "Is it that simple? All I have to do is believe in Him and that He died for all my sins and I'll get all that? And all the burden with my challenges will be gone cos I don't need to worry anymore??" Well... YEA!! :D Takes some time to get used to though... I know that cos i've been through the transition period too... The transit from relying heavily on yourself to relying on God. But once you do, everything will just fly... "For if I had wings I could fly, all that I need, you are, and if the world caved in around me, to You i'd still hold one. You're all that I believe, the one who created me, Jesus, because of You, I'm free!!" (the song Free, by Hillsong)

For all my friends who face challenges all day and are about to give up, don't. Let Jesus take care of the rest of your path in your challenges. There's nothing too big for Him. To my darling, this is for you. And to my friends. Especially Hua Xia, Nick, Calvin, I'm an example. I may seem tired, that's just because I'm physically weak :P But by the end of the day, I'll always be in a good mood... God is with me. And He's with you too. God bless you all.
