My past week (Part 2)

Saturday, Dec. 04, 2004, 2:46 p.m.

This is part 2 of my series of recaps, so you might wanna go back one page to check out Part one. You can do that be clicking on the "Rewind" button on my iPod.

28th November 2004, Sunday
After church that day, the girls were busy shopping for their Grad night dresses for the next night, so Yao Qing and I went off to the hotel first. It was once again at the Maritus Mandarin Hotel. This is my second Graduation dinner, since I went there last year. Somehow, due to time constrains, they left the organising of the programmes to an outside company. They actually came up with a theme! I mean, seriously... whatever happened to the formal grad night?

The whole programme was quite okay in the end. Started with a performance by some of our own guys who performed "Obviously" by McFly. Then there was the buffet. I didn't really enjoy the food, unfortunately, because I had asked someone else to get my food instead, as I went out to accompany HX, who wasn't in a good mood that day. Then there were lucky draws and games. I was glad that everyone enjoyed the dinner. Even those I-can't-wait-for-all-this-to-be-over guys stayed till the end and forgot their plans to "Leave straight after I finish my food". How can we forget the photo taking? We took loads. I was surprised that Mr Lee didn't make a speech this time. Must be because he was afraid he might say something wrong again after he "announced" the combined-prom with St. Nicks last year that was supposed to happen to our batch. The dinner ended with a disco that only a few poeple stayed for. I was shocked to see Mrs Long dancing DISCO!! I mean... woah!! Anyway, the 4 of us friends (Me, Jap, Bin, HX) took our last photos together. Jap left first, while HX, Bin and I followed the rest up to the room booked by the student leaders. We then followed the prefects, councillors and Mr Almon Yao to cineleasure. We ended up playing LAN at Raiders upstairs while Mr Yao and 3 others went to sing K-Box. It was only after playing for 30 minutes did I notice that the rest of the people in Raiders were actually our own school mates!!

After that, we followed them back to their room, where I slept until about 8 am and followed HX back to his home to help him shift stuff.

29th November 2004, Monday
A new day, a new beginning. First day where I'm officially out of Catholic High.

I went to HX's house where me, Jap and HX shifted his things to Jap's house. HX was still in a bad mood since Pat was leaving the next day. I ended up with a bad stomach ache by afternoon 'cause we all forgot about lunch, so I went home at 4 after some lunch near Jap's house. My stomach felt better within 10 minutes after a prayer! Wow! Anyway, that night, HX went to Raffles City in hopes to see Pat for the last time. I went to find him at night (about 11 pm) to accompany him. So there I was, at the City Hall station. HX told me to go out, turn right and go straight, where I'll see him. And that was what I did. I walked through the hotel lobby, and to my horror, I saw Ms Low!! And the worse part was, SHE SAW ME! I quickly looked around, then to realise, I WAS STANDING IN THE VERY HOTEL ST NICKS WAS HAVING THEIR PROM!! I quickly ran into the lobby to hide, in case Ms Low or some St Nicks girl misunderstands and starts asking me what I was doing there in the middle of the night.

Anyway, later that night, I followed HX, and stayed over at Jap's house.

30th November 2004, Tuesday
It's been 2 days since I slept in my own bed. Anyway, Jap and I went out to follow HX to buy some farewell gifts for Pat. We went around the city, mostly by taxi, from Chinatown to the Esplanade, to Suntec, to Raffles City, where he spent a huge amount of money for Pat. Man, he loves her a lot...

We rushed to the airport where we met Li Rong, Cheryl, Erica and Choon Boon. We managed to get HX and Pat to really meet each other. Sigh... how romantic. Ahem. Anyway, HX was in a better mood today. I think he realised it wasn't so bad, since they can still contact each other and stuff. So while Jap and Cheryl went back by car, the rest of us went back home by MRT.

We played truth or dare on the way back. Being on an MRT, noone dared to choose "dare", especially with HX giving dares such as "Snatch that guy's handphone..." We had fun on the train, and I think the other passengers noticed that too... oops :D

1st December 2004, Wednesday
The prefect Exco and the 3 of us had an outing that day. We met at Bishan, where I had lunch at Macs. Then we went to Cineleasure to play LAN at egames together. Once again, everyone found out how much I sucked at CS. HX suggested playing Desert Combat, but we changed our minds after his PC crashed after creating a game with 110 bots. We went back to CS, where I finally got better at it thanks to the 747 map. This was followed by some lunch with the rest and hanging out at Orchard. I apparently lost my EZ-Link card. And the funny thing was, I only realised I lost it after I heard an announcement over the PA "Paging for Daniel Yuen... (pause)... master sth sth, please come to the customer service center" I was like, "What the... I think that's me!" I rushed there and found out they found my EZ-link card. The lady there told me that they had trouble figuring out how to page me because of my wierd name. I told them it happens all the time... We later went to K-box at Suntec, and sang till our hearts content at 8, where we went to the Kopitiam just outside for dinner, and of course, to watch the Singapore Idol. Taufik won!! Haha!! So that shows Singapore still has some taste! Hurray for Taufik!!
